Conor Daly will take on another racing series to kick off the weekend as he makes his ARCA Menards Series debut.
Daly, who recently finished 10th in the Indianapolis 500, will join Rette Jones Racing for Friday evening’s race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (6 p.m. ET on FS2/FloRacing). He will drive the No. 30 Polkadot Ford Mustang.
Daly has extensive experience at the 2.258-mile road course in multiple series. He has made eight starts at Mid-Ohio in IndyCar competition. His best finish was sixth during the 2016 season.
Daly also competed in a Craftsman Truck Series race at Mid-Ohio. He drove for Niece Motorsports in last season’s race, and he finished 18th.
Now, he will take on the road course in a Ford Mustang.
“Very excited to finally make my ARCA debut with Rette Jones Racing,” Daly said in a press release. “This opportunity came up pretty last minute, but I love Mid-Ohio and really enjoy racing there. I have raced a Truck there and so I have a little bit of heavy car experience there.
“I have run well in an IndyCar there in the past. Excited for this chance. Excited to see what this series is all about. I have a lot to learn obviously.”
Daly, who has 109 starts in IndyCar, has steadily moved into the world of stock car racing in recent years. He made his NASCAR debut in 2018 with an Xfinity Series race at Road America. He then took on the Truck Series before moving to Cup.
Daly has eight starts across the three national NASCAR series with a pair of 18th-place finishes in the Truck Series serving as his best results.
He is also part of an exclusive list. Daly is one of 29 drivers to compete in the Daytona 500 and Indy 500 in the same season.
