Subaru has unveiled the BRZ Series.Purple, a limited-edition sports car with a head-turning color.

The automaker revealed the new BRZ and announced that it will only produce 500 units. The Series.Purple, the sixth special color edition of the BRZ, will feature a Galaxy Purple Pearl exterior. The black upholstery with gray stitching will serve as a complement to the limited-edition color.

The Series.Purple comes standard with the 2.4-liter (naturally aspirated) 228-horsepower Subaru Boxer engine. Subaru paired the powertrain exclusively with a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission.

According to the automaker, the Series.Purple will feature a standard STI short throw shifter and a Flexible V-Bar for improved performance.

The special touches continue with performance-design front seats with Ultrasuede seating surfaces and height-adjustable head restraints. The Subaru Tecnica International logo will take up space on the red starter button.

The Series.Purple is unique with its exclusive color and interior touches, but it shares standard features with the Limited trim of the BRZ.

The list includes Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires and heated exterior power mirrors. The new BRZ model also has an upgraded audio system with a two-channel amplifier and two additional speakers.

Other standard features include the following:

  • EyeSight Driver Assist Technology
  • TORSEN limited-slip differential
  • Keyless Access with Push-Button Start
  • LED headlights (low and high beam) with automatic height adjustment
  • Vehicle Stability Control with Track Mode and Sport Mode
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Incline Start Assist
  • Rear center console storage box with dual USB-A input/charge ports and auxiliary input jack
  • Variable intermittent windshield wipers with speed-sensing mist feature
  • Welcome Lighting.

The Series.Purple has a suggested MSRP of $35,445. It, and the rest of the BRZ lineup, will arrive at dealers early next year.
