Brad Pitt’s “F1” film does not hit theaters until June 27, 2025, but Mercedes-AMG is celebrating the film with a special release. The automaker has announced the limited-edition GT 63 “APXGP Edition.”

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 “APXGP Edition” takes its name from the fictional Formula 1 team, APXGP. This team features veteran Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) and young, rising driver Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris).

The GT 63, which Mercedes-AMG limited to 52 units worldwide, features a special APXGP Edition paint finish. It boasts Race Gold accents on the AMG-specific radiator grille, front fenders, side sills, rear apron, and rear diffuser blade. The GT 63 has a fixed rear wing to further the motorsports connection.

The design touches also include Race Gold 21-inch AMG Forged Cross-Spoke wheels and black Nappa leather/microfiber seats with gold stitching. The gold extends to the armrest, the heated steering wheel, the door panels, and the center instrument panel.

The AMG floor mats featured an embroidered “APXGP” logo in Race Gold. The GT 63 also features a “Limited Edition 1 of 52” badge in the center console.

“F1” designs aside, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 “APXGP Edition” builds upon a strong foundation.

For example, this luxury vehicle boasts a 1,170-watt Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System with 15 speakers. Its power comes from a 577-hp Handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine. The GT 63 has an AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive.

Why did Mercedes-AMG create the GT 63 “APXGP Edition?” One reason is that the automaker played a major role in the creation of the blockbuster from Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer.

Mercedes-AMG was an official partner of Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures. The automaker provided performance vehicles and sports cars. It provided expertise built from championship-winning campaigns in F1.

“F1” featured multiple vehicles from the lineup during scenes. The list includes the AMG SL, G-class, and GT. The film also included the Mercedes‑AMG Official FIA F1 Safety Car and Medical Car. One scene, in particular, featured these vehicles in the aftermath of a crash in Las Vegas.

“F1 brilliantly intertwines the fictional APXGP team with the real-world Formula 1,” said Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH and Head of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class & Mercedes-Maybach divisions.

The thrilling storyline and realistic race footage will set moviegoers’ hearts racing. We’re excited to showcase our performance vehicles, including the dynamic AMG GT, in this high-performance setting.

“With the exclusive APXGP Edition, we’re creating a limited number of GTs that blend AMG’s excitement with the cinematic masterpiece F1.”
