Jaguar has spent the last few days teasing a big reveal. The automaker has changed its logo and provided partial glimpses of what appears to be a concept car.
And while this series of posts on social media has generated buzz online, it has also split users. Some have shown support for the commercial featuring models instead of cars and the new logo. Others, however, have taken a significantly different stance.
“I thought you guys made cars,” one person posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Many others responded and asked similar questions. This group included Tesla founder Elon Musk, who asked if Jaguar “sells cars.”
The automaker’s social media profile responded to many of the comments. It said “All will be revealed” and pointed to Dec. 2 as the date. The company called the video ad, in particular, “The future.”
The teases did not end with the clip on YouTube, X, and other platforms. Jaguar posted one photo that showed what appeared to be the left rear of a concept car.
Another series of images possibly showed door handles that popped out. However, what they were remained unclear.
Like the ad with models, the photos split users on social media. Some expressed excitement about the Jaguar outline making a return. Others said they were intrigued by the teases.
Other people simply compared what they could see with household items.
Social media users will remain split in the coming week as Jaguar prepares for its big reveal. Some will continue to show support while others will compare the automaker to Bud Light and a previous campaign.
Regardless of how users feel, it’s hard to argue against the effectiveness of these teases. Jaguar certainly has people talking.
