Who knew that twerking was still a thing? More importantly, who knew that twerking on TOP OF A CAR was ever a thing?? Apparently, if you haven’t been twerking on top of your car, you’re not as hardcore as these ladies. Make sure to catch the two insane videos below.
The videos, filmed by Jackie Friedhoff, show two women on top of a white SUV cruising down I-64 in St. Louis, twerking their tails off as another woman leans out the passenger seat filming with her phone. So is this another case of a crazy social media stunt? An attempt to gain likes and followers? Probably, but it was also for a music video, apparently. A local paper tracked down the roof dancers and asked them what in the world they were thinking.
According to the Riverfront Times in St. Louis, the women are part of a group of rappers/twerkers that call themselves Gango and they were recording a scene for a video that they say will be call “Twerk Sum.” “It doesn’t matter where we at, we can’t stop twerking,” said one member, while adding, “We could be outside, and we could just be walking and twerking. It could be in the store, in the grocery store, it doesn’t matter as long as we’re having fun.”
Yeah, that actually sounds fun and all but… is the roof of a car on a busy highway fun? It’s certainly not smart!
Still, it’s hard not admire these ladies for their dedication to a dying dance style. We say Twerk on ladies!
Although the St. Louis County Police were less enthusiastic about it and felt the need to tweet and remind everyone that it’s not, in fact, a good idea to twerk on top of a moving vehicle.
