A 1968 Ford Mustang went from sitting in storage undriven for nearly twenty years to an upgraded graduation gift after a crazy detailing. The owner of the white pony car decided to bring it back on the road and enlisted the help of the team from “WD Detailing” on YouTube to give the pony a professional makeover. Additionally, he intended to present the Mustang to his daughter as a graduation present.

WD Detailing is comprised of “3 dudes from Ohio that like to detail cars!”, per their Instagram page description. Boy, these guys certainly are humble. They absolutely breathe new life into this 1968 Ford Mustang.

Watching the video, the pony car appears mostly untouched. It had a respray but is mostly original, including the V8 engine. Despite sitting off-road for nearly 20 years, it was stored in a garage, so it’s close to rust-free. Still, the WD Detailing crew had a lot of work ahead of them.

Our favorite moment of the detailing? With the help of modern technology, the WD Detailing team scanned a yellow substance baked into the car and identified it as calcified cat vomit. SCIENCE!

Luckily, the car essentially just had a touch of weathered paint and interior wear. After WD Detailing worked their magic, the Mustang was a showstopper! Eventually, the crew presents the updated pony car to the owners. It’s quite a transformation, to say the least.

Over on WD Detailing’s video post on YouTube, the comments are gushing with praise. “You really REALLY brought this car back to life,” one fan exclaimed. “It looks great and hopefully the car will bring her many smiles per mile…”, they added. “Always so wild to see the hidden gems just wasting away in a garage or barn. Life happens I guess,” another car lover observed.

Other fans couldn’t help but notice the subdued reaction to the recipient of the 1968 Ford Mustang graduation gift. “For someone thats been asking for the car for so long, I thought she’d have been a lot more excited than she was,” they noted. “Car looks great guys. Excellent job,” they added.

However, we’d wager that the young grad was simply overwhelmed with joy (and maybe a tad uncomfortable being filmed). After all, she was all smiles taking in how great the formerly in-storage ride looked.
