Ford is using two of its iconic brands as part of a collaboration that focuses more on the two-wheel market.
According to a press release, Ford and N+ — a leader in cycling technology — have joined forces to release a new line of officially licensed eBike models. Two feature colors, logos, and fonts inspired by the classic Ford Mustang. Another features colors and logos inspired by the Ford Bronco.
The bikes are available to order starting Aug. 8 on Ford-Bikes.com.
There are two bikes based on the Ford Mustang. The first is the 60th Anniversary Edition model that consumers can only purchase at Ford dealerships. The second model is the standard Mustang eBike, which features a Carbonized Gray Metallic paint scheme.
The Mustang bikes have 750W hub-mounted motors that generate 85 Nm of torque. These bikes can reach a top speed of 28 mph. Ford says they have an approximate range of 60 miles on a 3.5-hour charge time.
The Mustang eBike sits on Pirelli Angel GT semi-slick tires built for city streets. The bike has a full-color LCD screen that displays data regarding speed, battery life, and range.
The Mustang eBike has multiple riding modes available to consumers — Eco, Normal, Sport, and Track.
The base Mustang eBike starts at $4,000. An extra $390 will provide the option to choose one of 10 colors beyond the Carbonized Gray Metallic. Ford did not provide pricing or quantity information about the 60th Anniversary Edition.
The Ford Bronco eBike features an off-road design
The Ford Bronco eBike is noticeably different than the Mustang-inspired version. The purpose of this bike is to take on the great outdoors rather than explore urban settings.
This eBike features a G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) inspired dual suspension system and a motorcycle-style seat. It bears a resemblance to a dirt bike. Ford says this bike can handle terrain such as roots, rocks, and riverbeds.
This eBike also has a 750W hub-mounted motor that generates 85 Nm of torque. It can reach a top speed of 28 mph. Ford says it has an approximate range of 60 miles on a 3.5-hour charge time.
The Ford Bronco eBike sits on Pirelli Scorpion Enduro M hard wall tires. It has running lights for improved visibility. Like the Mustang bike, it has a screen that provides information about speed, battery life, and range.
The Ford Bronco eBike starts at $4,500 with the standard Area 51 paint. An extra $390 provides the ability to choose between one of 10 optional colors.
“We know the passion and thrill that gets unlocked when people get behind the wheel of a Bronco and Mustang,” said Tyler Hill, Ford global brand licensing manager, in a statement.
“These new eBikes will allow more people to experience the adventurous spirit of a Bronco and the exhilaration of a Mustang from the moment they grip the handlebars.”
