Dodge continues to move toward electrification, but the automaker is taking time to deliver another Hemi-powered vehicle. Enter the Dodge Durango Hammerhead.
According to a press release from Stellantis, the Durango Hammerhead is one of three upcoming special editions of the long-running SUV. The list also includes the Durango SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet and the R/T 20th Anniversary.
The Durango Hammerhead features the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine, which delivers 710 horsepower. Dodge says the SUV can go from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. It has a claimed top speed of 180 mph.
The Hellcat engine pairs with a TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission. The Hammerhead has paddle shifters on the steering wheel to provide manual-style shifting.
The Hammerhead name is from the Hammerhead Grey Laguna leather interior seating, which features the Hellcat logo. This interior pairs with the dark blue Night Moves exterior color.
“The new Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead continues the celebration of a potent combination: the legendary HEMI engine and the Dodge brand’s three-row performance SUV,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge brand CEO, in a press release.
“Dodge is America’s performance brand, and we plan to continue to celebrate that legacy at every turn.”
The 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead will start at the suggested retail price (MSRP) of $113,720. This doesn’t include destination fees.
The SUV is eligible for the Dodge Power Dollars program. This offers customers a cash allowance of $10 per horsepower, which they can put toward purchasing select 2023-24 Dodge models.
The Hammerhead includes several distinct features
As a special edition, the Hammerhead features several details that are exclusive to the new SUV. The vehicle sits on 20-by-10-inch Satin Carbon wheels, which match the Satin Black painted hood.
Other details include special exhaust tips, a six-piston Brembo brake system, and a premium-wrapped instrument panel.
The steering wheel is leather and suede with silver and sepia stitching. This accent stitching extends throughout the SUV’s interior.
The Hammerhead has seven available drive modes — Auto, Sport, Track, Snow, Tow, Eco, and Valet. The vehicle includes SRT Performance Pages that provide information about such things as g-force, gauges, engine, and dyno readouts.
Along with the exclusive features, the Hammerhead also includes other standard features found on other Durango models. This list includes the following:
