Tyreek Hill takes on F1’s Pierre Gasly in a reflex challenge

Tyreek Hill embraced the world of F1.

Miami Dolphin wide receiver Tyreek Hill has a reputation as one of the fastest players in the NFL. Defenders struggle to keep up with him on the gridiron while he regularly surpasses 1,000 yards receiving.

But how does he compare to a Formula One driver?

Hill recently tested his reflexes against Pierre Gasly, who competes in F1 for Alpine. The test was simple — one person held a tennis ball in each hand. They would drop either one or both at the same time. The other person, whose hands were just above, had to react and catch the balls.

Hill was successful in his attempts. He bobbled the ball a couple of times but managed to catch each one quickly. Though Gasly, who practices this drill before every Grand Prix, showed that his speed was on another level.

Hill’s first attempts were slower, but he made progress after some quick instructions. Gasly pointed out that Hill was looking up during the drill. Gasly focused his eyes on a spot on Hill’s torso between his hands.

Once Hill adjusted his gaze, he improved his reaction time.

This test of reflexes was part of a larger F1 experience

F1 driver Pierre Gasly competes in the Netflix Cup in Las Vegas.

This test of reflexes took place during F1’s weekend in Miami. The motorsports series competed in the Miami Grand Prix, which Lando Norris won, while fans and celebrities alike took in the action.

Hill, in particular, spent an entire day with Gasly and the Alpine team while filming a video for his YouTube channel. He watched the pit crew perform, tried to fit inside Gasly’s car, and took part in a training session.

The work with the tennis balls was only one part of the process. Hill also pulled on a band that was attached to a harness on Gasly’s head.

Hill would pull the bands for six seconds while Gasly would keep his head in the same position. This showed the strength of his neck. This process repeated as Gasly rotated positions.
