Two Formula 1 drivers will remain with their respective teams after signing contract extensions on Thursday, June 27.

Pierre Gasly signed a multi-year extension with Alpine. He joined the team at the start of last season, and now he will remain in the No. 10 for the foreseeable future.

“I feel very much at home at this great team. I enjoy being a real part of both the Formula 1 project and the wider Alpine Cars vision,” Gasly said in a statement. “I’ve been officially here for over 18 months and it has always been the plan to build a long-term project with the Team.”

Gasly and Alpine continue to seek their first podium of the season. They have ninth-place finishes in the last two Grand Prix and an average finish of 13.6.

“While on track it’s been a challenging season so far, I remain faithful to the project and I am not going anywhere,” Gasly added. “I am happy with the changes made, the hard work, and the direction the team is taking.

“There is a lot of potential in this team’s personnel and resources. I’m excited for what is to come in the future and right now I’m focusing on the everyday details that we are putting in to improve our performances.”

Alpine was not the only team to announce a driver extension on Thursday. Aston Martin also confirmed that Lance Stroll would remain with the organization through the 2026 season after signing an extension.

Stroll will solidify the Aston Martin lineup after his teammate, two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, signed a multi-year extension.

“We are delighted to confirm Lance’s future with Aston Martin Aramco,” said Team Principal Mike Krack in a statement. “He has played a key role in building this team. His technical feedback, alongside his committed simulator work, has helped contribute to the continuous development of the car each season.

“The consistency and stability of both Lance and Fernando remaining with our team is a great platform to continue to realize our ambitions. We look forward to creating some more incredible memories and achieving further success together.”
