NBA legend-turned-NASCAR team co-owner Michael Jordan has shown his appreciation for unique vehicles over the decades. He has taken it to another level by purchasing an electric hypercar built just for him.

According to a press release, Automobili Pininfarina created the one-off Battista Targamerica specifically for Jordan. This electric hypercar is the company’s “first client-commissioned coach-built car,” and it features numerous custom touches.

The automaker did not initially reveal the client, but it has since posted a photo of Jordan taking delivery.

The Battista Targamerica shares the title of Italy’s fastest road-legal car with the standard Automobili Pininfarina Battista. These vehicles have four electric motors that partner with the 20kWh lithium-ion battery.

The result is a hypercar that delivers 1,900 hp of power and 2,340 Nm (1,725.895 lb.-ft.) of torque. Automobili Pininfarina says it can go from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (62 mph) in less than two seconds.

The electric hypercar has a roofless design, which will help accommodate Jordan’s 6-foot, 6-inch frame. The Battista Targamerica also has a cigar holder and humidor built into the cockpit between the two seats.

This aluminum and glass case is a nod to Jordan’s longstanding appreciation of cigars.

The custom touches continue with the tan leather interior and the contrasting black leather steering wheel and dashboard. The headrests have the Automobili Pininfarina ‘F’ logo.

The exterior touches include “one-off, ceramic-polished five-spoke alloy rims with contrast black anodized aluminum center caps.” The Battista Targamerica also features silver Argento Liquido Gloss paint with Iconica Blu Gloss accents.

“This is a seminal moment, delivering our first coach-built one-off vehicle to a client,” said Chief Design Officer Dave Amantea. “Battista Targamerica, like no other vehicle before, demonstrates the infinite possibilities our highly skilled team can design and engineer.

“Our world-class artisans have delivered something truly special — the first electric open-top hypercar designed specifically to a very exacting client’s own specification.”
