Rick and Michonne Return in New ‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’ Trailer

Rick and Michonne Return in New ‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’ Trailer

Andrew Lincoln’s Rick and Danai Gurira’s Michonne are back next month in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, and a new trailer just dropped. AMC released the trailer on YouTube earlier today.

The upcoming series, set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ on Feb. 25, marks the highly anticipated return of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira to the franchise. In the captivating trailer, Michonne embarks on a relentless search for Rick, seemingly held captive by the formidable Alliance of the Three. Additionally, the trailer unveils Terry O’Quinn as Major General Beale and welcomes back Pollyanna McIntosh as Jadis, offering fans a glimpse of what’s to come.

In a tense moment, Terry O’Quinn’s character, Major General Beale, interrogates Rick. “Why are you here? Do you want to kill, or do you want to die?”, he asked. An unfazed Rick replies, “Look in my eyes, sir. You tell me.”

‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’ has a Stacked Cast

Of course, O’Quinn has serious genre chops. He played the breakout character John Locke in Lost. He also appeared in The X-Files and played the titular sinister deranged dad in The Stepfather. The fan favorite recently opened up about his character in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

“He is the leader of the Civic Republic military and it operates pretty independently of the Civic Republic government. So he doesn’t really have to deal with them very much. And he’s held in high esteem. He’s kind of a hero. He has a long military history. He served two terms in Vietnam and went to officer training school. And he’s had to make some decisions in terms of who lives and who dies and how to deal with the mass of walking dead,” O’Quinn recently told Entertainment Weekly. “He has a big army, but he has about 2,000 of his front liners. They’re his elite corps and they do most of the work, be it dirty or not dirty. He makes decisions based on what he thinks will help his community survive.”\

Alongside Lincoln, Gurira, and O’Quinn, the cast of the series includes Lesley-Ann Brandt, Pollyanna McIntosh (reprising her role as Jadis, the character who rescued Rick in season nine of The Walking Dead), and Matthew Jeffers.

Lincoln bid farewell to The Walking Dead in 2018, concluding nearly a decade-long journey. His character met an uncertain fate in Season 9, while Gurira’s character departed in Season 10 in search of him. Both luminaries later made cameos in the 2022 season finale.
