Kelly Clarkson and Kelsey Grammer didn’t seem a bit confused as they heard the blues a-callin tossed salad and scrambled eggs. In a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson joined forces with the 68-year-old actor for a special collaboration.
During the Kellyoke segment, they mesmerized the audience with a rendition of the iconic theme song from the beloved 90s sitcom Frasier. Titled “Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs,” this delightful tune was originally heard during the opening and closing credits of the NBC show from 1993 to 2004. Not only did Grammer lend his voice to sing the song’s lyrics, but he also portrayed the show’s unforgettable character, Frasier Crane.
“Y’all know how this goes,” Grammer quipped before crooning the opening line. “Hey baby, I hear the blues a-callin’ tossed salads and scrambled eggs.” Clarkson couldn’t resist chiming in and harmonizing with Grammer as the band played their jazzy instrumentals. By the end of the segment, Clarkson was grinning from ear to ear.
Kelly Clarkson and Kelsey Grammer Performed a New Version of the Theme
After receiving a round of applause, Clarkson graciously expressed her gratitude to both the audience and Grammer. Of course, Grammer portrayed the role of psychiatrist Frasier Crane for two decades. He initially was a recurring character on the television show Cheers in 1984, before becoming a series regular in 1986.
“Thank you for jamming out with me,” Kelly Clarkson gushed to Kelsey Grammer. She then added that it was “a dream come true.”
“That was the theme song from his new series Frasier, which is a reboot of literally possibly — that’s a top two show for me of all time,” Clarkson explained about the new reboot of the sitcom which dropped on Paramount+ in October 2023. “Frasier is one of my favorites,” Clarkson exclaimed as the segment drew to a close. “You have no idea. I’m freaking out right now.”
Last year, a reboot of the beloved series Frasier consisting of 10 episodes was aired on Paramount+. As part of the new season, Grammer performed a re-recorded rendition of the show’s iconic theme song, ‘Tossed Salads And Scrambled Eggs’.
In the season finale, Roz (portrayed by Peri Gilpin) surprised Frasier by paying him a visit during the Christmas season. Gilpin was thrilled to return to the role. “I just loved getting to do it,” she recently told Entertainment Weekly. “It was a fantasy come true to play that part again and to go back into that world.”
