Andre Braugher’s Best ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Moments

Few television actors make their presence felt like Andre Braugher did, especially on the hit NBC show Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Braugher, who died on Monday after a brief illness, was 61 years old.

Besides this show, Andre Braugher also popped up on Homicide: Life on the Street and Men of a Certain Age. Braugher’s movie work includes GloryThe MistPrimal FearCity of AngelsSalt and She Said. Back in the late 1980s, he showed up working alongside Telly Savalas in a few Kojak TV movies.

A number of fellow actors and actresses have shared their condolences online after hearing of Braugher’s death. Lou Diamond Phillips said on X, formerly known as Twitter, “I am beyond shocked and saddened at the sudden passing of Andre Braugher. We worked together many years ago and his talent was only surpassed by his heart and soul. What a magnificent man. I wish I could have known you better.”

Writer David Simon said on X, “Andre Braugher. God. I’ve worked with a lot of wonderful actors. I’ll never work with one better. Stunned and thinking of Ami and his sons and so many memories of this good man that are now a blessing. But too damn soon.”
