WWE Legend Bill Goldberg Smashes Fan in Tom Brady Jersey With Spear at Falcons Game

Bill Goldberg, a WWE Hall of Famer, found success in professional wrestling after his football career was over. Goldberg was a star defensive tackle at the University of Georgia and in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons.

Today, at the Falcons’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Goldberg excited the crowd with his iconic spear. His target? A fan who was rocking a Tom Brady Bucs jersey.

The electrifying moment perfectly encapsulated Goldberg’s legacy — both in and out of the wrestling ring.

Bill Goldberg’s Star Shined Brightest on ‘WCW Nitro’

Bill Goldberg, a powerhouse in the world of professional wrestling, left an indelible mark during his tenure with World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Bursting onto the scene in the late 1990s, Goldberg quickly became a household name.

Debuting in September 1997, Goldberg quickly embarked on an unprecedented winning streak that captivated audiences and propelled him to the upper echelons of WCW. His no-nonsense approach and dominant in-ring style set him apart.

He was one of one — despite being compared to WWE’s Stone Cold Steve Austin at the time.

One of Goldberg’s defining moments came on the July 6, 1998 episode of WCW Nitro, which took place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. In what was a historic match, he defeated Hulk Hogan to capture the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. The moment was one of the biggest and brightest in the history of Nitro.

Goldberg’s matches were characterized by explosive power moves. The most notable of which? His signature spear, which he always followed up with a Jackhammer. As he showed earlier today, he’s still got it, despite being 56 years of age.

Goldberg’s intense presence and physicality in the ring contributed to the success of WCW. Although he did have a brief run in WWE, it was his Nitro days that defined him.
