Why Taylor Swift Wasn’t Allowed to See Travis Kelce Ahead of Super Bowl LVIII

Although she made her stateside arrival on Saturday, Feb. 10, Taylor Swift was reportedly not allowed to see her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, before Super Bowl LVIII

According to TMZ, a mandate allegedly puts those playing in the big game on lockdown hours leading up to the game. The media outlet states it’s unsure if this is an all-NFL mandate or just specifically for the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. It was also reported that Taylor Swift arrived in Los Angeles before making her way to Las Vegas for the game, which will be played at Allegiant Stadium.

This will be the third Super Bowl that Travis Kelce has played in. The last time the Chiefs went up against the 49ers was in 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner, Clark Hunt, confirmed to PEOPLE that Taylor Swift was en route to watch Travis Kelce play in the Super Bowl. “She’s coming! She’s coming! We’re excited,” Gracie declared while on the Fanatics Super Bowl Party red carpet.

Swift flew from Tokyo to Los Angeles following her third and final show in Japan. Gracie also confirmed that there will be a “Chiefs Kingdom” after-party if the Chiefs win.

Travis Kelce Recently Shared His Thoughts About the Speculation He’ll Propose to Taylor Swift at Super Bowl LVIII

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce recently spoke about the rumors going around about him potentially proposing to Taylor Swift during Super Bowl LVIII.

Page Six reported that during a press conference last week, Kelce was asked, “Is there going to be another ring besides the Super Bowl ring if you win this thing on Sunday?”

“I’m focused on getting this ring,” Kelce stated. “And that’s all that my mind’s focused on right now.”

Engagement rumors between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been circulating over the past couple of months.

The previous rumors were that Kelce was planning to propose during the holidays. However, he and Swift supposedly agreed that it would be too soon for an engagement. “They don’t want it to be seem like it’s rushed insanity.”

A source pointed out that Travis Kelce wouldn’t propose to Taylor Swift on Valentine’s Day either.

“Taylor and Travis discussed it and there is a plan,”  an insider told Page Six. “They will get engaged on their one-year anniversary in July.”

Swift previously said that she and Kelce started dating before she started attending his games. “So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for,”she told Time. “Because we got to get to know each other.”
