What Happened to Matt Czuchry? What Logan From ‘Gilmore Girls’ is Doing Now

If you want to see an actor who is on a roll these days, then just take a look at Gilmore Girls star Matt Czuchry. Fans know that Czuchry played Logan Huntzberger on The CW series. Czuchry was on there from 2004-07, but getting connected to a new series would happen in time.

Once Gilmore Girls came to an end, Czuchry found work on Justice League Unlimited and Veronica Mars. But he also got a four-episode arc as Chris Kennedy on Friday Night Lights. Then, Czuchry started a solid run on the CBS series The Good Wife as lawyer Cary Agos. He played opposite Julianna Margulies and Christine Baranski on the show, which helped establish Czuchry even more as a solid actor.

In 2016, he also reprised his Logan character in the Netflix miniseries Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

Matt Czuchry Connects With Playing Logan

In that year, Czuchry and Gilmore Girls executive producer Daniel Palladino talked about the TV show with Bustle. Palladino offers some inside wisdom about Logan’s character. He said, “He’s a really strong guy who never really realized how trapped he was by his family and by his father. We always saw Logan as looking to Rory for salvation because he knew that his family did not want him to be with her.”

But Czuchry quickly nabbed the starring role as Conrad Hawkins in the Fox series The Resident. That series lasted six seasons, in which Czuchry played opposite Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, Bruce Greenwood, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and Jane Leeves.

In a 2022 interview with PhotoBook, Czuchry talked about what it’s like being on the set of The Resident. “I love the people on ‘The Resident,’” he said. “I really do. (And) I love this group. That is my favorite part of this entire five-year run. The cast, the crew, directors, background artists, our stand-ins, guest stars, the producers, the writers, the entire production.

“So many of us have been together for a good chunk of our lives, five years. I love how we come together to overcome obstacles in an effort to achieve a unified goal, to make stories that impact others whom we most likely will never meet.”

Actor Lands Big Role on ‘American Horror Story’

Now, guess where he’s landed now? On another veteran series, American Horror Story on FX. Deadline indicated last year that Czuchry was seen filming scenes for the show’s 12th season. He plays opposite Emma Roberts in a husband-and-wife situation. This series started airing its episodes back in September 2023 and will pick it up in April 2024.

Czuchry was born in Manchester, New Hampshire, but was raised in Johnson City, Tennessee. For college, he went to the College of Charleston on a tennis scholarship. Czuchry eventually graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science.

As for his personal life, there’s not much out there. Reportedly, Czuchry dated actress Kate Bosworth in the early 2000s. But when it comes to relationships, it appears that he looks to keep things out of the press.

He worked hard to establish himself as an actor before that breakthrough role on Gilmore Girls. Among the shows he appeared on include Freaks and Geeks, 7th Heaven, The Practice, and Veronica Mars.

There’s also some film work in the actor’s resume. Czuchry’s most recent big-screen work was back in 2009 with I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.

Still, Czuchry is beloved by fans for his time on Gilmore Girls. That role put him on the acting map and, in turn, led up to all this other work. He’s been a solid actor in the different roles he has played over the years. Now, fans can watch him in American Horror Story and enjoy his work even more.
