Less than two months after news circulated about his son, Riley Hawk, marrying Frances Bean Cobain, Tony Hawkin seemingly confirmed the marriage by sharing an adorable picture of the couple’s wedding celebration.
As previously reported, Hawk and Cobain obtained a marriage license in San Diego County in September 2023. They exchanged vows in a ceremony on Oct. 7, with former R.E.M. frontman, Michael Stip, performing during the event. Cobain and Hawk notably have been together since January 2021. Cobain was previously married to Isaiah Silva from 2014 to 2017.
While celebrating Riley’s 31st birthday, Tony shared an image on Instagram of his son with his new daughter-in-law. “Happy 31st to this wonderful, talented young man,” Hawk wrote in the post. “I am thankful he found the love of his life and a healthy, disciplined approach to adulthood. And that he is inspiring his younger siblings by example.”
Tony Hawk went on to share more details about his son’s wedding. “We had a blast at the wedding and we love you, Riley!”
Hawk then gave a shout-out to Frances asking her to show Riley the post. “Since he’s no longer in the Insta bubble,” he added.
Tony Hawk has four children all together. Riley is his firstborn. The professional skateboarder shares Riley with his ex-wife Cindy Dunbar. He has children with his other ex-wives Erin Lee and Lhotse Merriam. He married his fourth wife, Catherine Goodman in 2015. They don’t have any children together.
Tony Hawk Once Stated He Is His Kids’ ‘Personal Filmographer’ When They Skate
While speaking to OK! magazine in 2021, Tony Hawk stated that when it comes to his children skating, he’s on the sidelines being their personal filmographer.
“It’s funny because – especially when we were on vacation together, it’s not that I am skating with them, it’s that I am their personal filmgrapher,” he explained. “I am the one that is getting all of the clips for Instagram.”
Although his daughter Kady was into theater and lacrosse at the time, Tony Hawk says she still skates every once in a while. “She will grab her skateboard and use it for transportation,” he said. “And I can see that she still has that confidence and that balance, but I can’t force her. I am happy she has sort of found her own thing.”
Tony Hawk went on to add that his kids all skate and have their own crew that skates. “I am not really included in that group,” he admitted. “So they all kind of do their own thing, and I am more the curmudgeon ramp skater in their life, which is fine with me.”
