Just after The Santa Clauses‘ Casey Wilson spoke out against her co-star and the show’s lead, Tim Allen, fans and critics alike took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts about the comments.
As previously reported, Wilson, who appeared in the show’s pilot, called out Allen’s on-set behavior during the latest episode of her podcast, B-tch Sesh. She stated that working with him was the “trust single” worst experience she’s ever had with a co-star. “Allen was such a b—,” Wilson declared. “it was only the truly single worst experience I’ve ever had with a co-star ever.”
Wilson stated she hadn’t spoken out about Tim Allen’s behavior on the set until now because one of The Santa Clauses producers is a close friend. Her children are also big fans of The Santa Clause films as well. What caused Wilson to have bitterness towards Allen? She elaborated by stating,
Everything went down while she was acting her scene. “I think he’s a burglar. So he’s coming down the chimney, obviously as Santa, and I am woken up thinking there’s an intruder, basically like a home invasion scene.”
Wilson recalled that after there was a cut in the scene, she overheard Tim Allen declare to someone else say something about her. “You gotta tell her to stop stepping on my lines,” he apparently said.
“The producer turns to me with horror on his face and has to walk one foot to me,” she continued. “And he goes, ‘Um, Tim would ask that you stop stepping on his lines.’”
Wilson added that there was constant tension on the set when Tim Allen was around. She also referred to him as being f—ing rude. “Never made eye contact, never said anything. It was so uncomfortable.”
The Internet Has Some Thoughts About Tim Allen’s Behavior on Set
Immediately after the podcast episode made some headlines, social media users were quick to share their thoughts on Tim Allen’s supposed on-set behavior. It appears that not everyone seems to be surprised by the situation.
“Allen being a massive diva is certainly not new,” one X user explained. “A good chunk of that retrospective doc on the original Santa Clause is people admitting Allen lost patience with the uncomfortable makeup and started swearing in front of the child actors, which he apologized for subsequently.”
Another X user also stated that Tim Allen was insufferable in his hit series Last Man Standing. “I’m shocked it even lasted as long as it did,” the social media user continued. “Especially since he just used it as a mouthpiece to bash anything he didn’t like.”
There was some support for Allen. One X user claimed that they worked as an extra in a movie featuring Allen in it. “Tim Allen was SO NICE,” they wrote. “Would go out of his way to make everyone comfortable and chat everyone up. She’s lyinggggg.”
