The Grinch’s Cindy-Lou Who Vaping Video Hits the Internet

Everybody’s favorite Cindy Lou Who, Taylor Momsen, has been seen taking a hit off of a vape pipe in a video. This happened to be a breakout role that earned Taylor Momsen a Saturn Award nomination. It was for best performance by a younger actor. But it also led to bullying in school.

Taylor Momsen revealed as much during an interview on Podcrushed. She appeared along with her former Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley.

“’The Grinch’ changed my life in a multitude of ways,” Momsen said. “One of them being I was made fun of relentlessly,” Momsen said. “Every time I would start a new school or go somewhere else, I don’t even think the kids knew my name. I was just Grinch Girl. Not even the character name [Cindy-Lou Who], just Grinch Girl,” Variety reports.

Take note of this. Most of Taylor Momsen’s Gossip Girl co-stars were in their early 20s when the show started. She felt out of place on set. Connor Paolo, who played Eric van der Woodsen, happens to be the only cast member close to Momsen’s age.

“I didn’t fit in with you guys, I didn’t fit in with Connor’s friends — (and) I was younger than them,” Momsen said during her visit to the podcast. “(And) I was the new girl. I was the ‘Grinch’ girl. (And) I was always in this kind of weird, isolated world, partially of my own creation, probably.”

Taylor Momsen Reaches Age To Make Her Own Decisions

Her IMDb profile states: “Taylor Michel Momsen is an American actress, singer, and director from St. Louis, Missouri. She is known for playing Cindy-Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Alexandra Anami in Spy Kids 2, and Jenny Humphrey from Gossip Girl. She is the leader of a punk rock band The Pretty Reckless. Her band released four albums.”

Momsen’s fans might be surprised to see the child star vaping. But she’s at an age where she can decide for herself what’s best and what’s not. Of course, seeing her as a child and then older will definitely throw some fans off kilter.

Momsen Calls Acting ‘A Childhood Thing’

“[Acting] was a childhood thing that I got put into when I was 2 years old,” Momsen said to Penn Badgley and his cohosts Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari on the Sept. 6 episode of SiriusXM’s Podcrushed, according to Entertainment Weekly. “I wasn’t making my own choices then. And literally, as soon as I got to an age where I could make my own decision—it was like a click.”

She reached a new level of realization upon awakening. Momsen says that she can now go on tour instead of feeling dread about missing a show and having to act. “‘I don’t have to do this. I can just play in my band. Tour. And write songs,” she said. “(And) I can just do that.’”

Taylor Momsen, 30, has been the lead singer of The Pretty Reckless since 2009. “I have the ability to create and live my life. The way I want to live it. I don’t know exactly what made that click, but it was like a light bulb went off. And I uprooted and kind of changed my life overnight.”

Momsen is celebrating her success in business and life these days.
