Sharon Stone Says LAPD Put Her on Lockdown During Infamous O.J. Simpson Car Chase

One June night in 1994, Sharon Stone saw her life turned upside down as she was scurried away into safety. Why at that time? Well, O.J. Simpson was getting some help from his friend Al Cowlings. They, along with a now-infamous white Ford Bronco, took Los Angeles Police Department officers on a long chase along California freeways and roadways.

Sharon Stone, who was one of the hottest actresses in the world then thanks to Basic Instinct, got a visit from LAPD officers at her home in Los Angeles in the middle of the O.J. Simpson chase.

In an interview with InStyle, Stone said the LAPD “dispatched a squad to find (her) at home and tell her she had 10 minutes to pack a suitcase.” The actress “was being moved to a hotel for her own protection.”

Sharon Stone said one officer told her, “He’s dangerous. And we don’t know how dangerous, and we don’t know what this is.”

Sharon Stone Moved To Hotel Room for Safety

The Casino actress said that “while O.J. was driving up and down the f–king freeway,” she was put in a hotel room. Sharon Stone said one officer stood near the reception area, while another one closely watched her door. LAPD wanted to make sure she wasn’t on O.J. Simpson’s mind.

The actress reportedly didn’t question the motives of the LAPD officers. Also, Sharon Stone had no connection to O.J. Simpson at all. But this action is simply a reflection of how nutty her life was after Basic Instinct came out.

“[The police] were like, ‘Find a secure house behind a gate,’” Stone said, recalling when she needed a boost in security as fame hit her. “It’s very expensive to be famous. You go out to dinner, and there’s 15 people at the table, and who gets the check? You get the $3,000 dinner check every single time.”

“At least now [people] understand that Jennifer Lawrence can’t just skip onto an airplane,” Stone said later on in the interview. “Nicole Kidman can’t jump onto Delta. Sharon Stone can’t do it either, whether or not she’s doing a lot of movies. [People] think, ‘What have you been in?’ And it’s like, dude, they know me in the Amazon rainforest. It’s tampons, Q-tips and Sharon Stone.”

‘Basic Instincts’ Star Keeps List of Men Who Did Her Wrong

Later on, Sharon Stone revealed that she’s been keeping a list of every man in Hollywood who did her wrong. And she means business, too.

“One of the people [on the list] came and sat down next to me and said, ‘If I’ve done something, please let me know,’” Stone said. “I said, ‘It’s time for you to stand up or I’m going to start explaining out loud to everybody here what it is that you did. Those are your two choices.”

Another man who wronged her once came in late to a screening. Stone said, “And the only seat left in the theater was next to me. He sat on the stairs at the end of the row. If you can’t control yourself enough to sit next to me and say, ‘I’m not going to behave the way I did before, and I apologize,’ then don’t f–king sit next to me.”

Sharon Stone is one actress who is willing to stand up to the “good ole boy” network. She does not put up with a lot of posers out in the world.
