10 years after her father Paul Walker tragically died in a car crash, Meadow Walker pays tribute to the Fast and Furious star in a touching Instagram post.
In the social media post, Meadow shares a video of her surprising him on his birthday. The duo embraced after she declared “Happy birthday” loudly. “10 years without you…” she wrote. “I love you forever.”
Paul Walker died on November 30, 2013, while leaving an event for his charity, Reach Out Worldwide. The actor was in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by Roger Rodas. While traveling 80 mph in a 45 mph speed zone in Santa Clarita, California’s Valencia neighborhood, Rodas lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a concrete lamp post. The car caught on fire within seconds of the crash.
While Rodas died instantly, Walker passed within seconds from the notable effects of physical trauma caused by the accident and burns. It was reported by CNN at the time that both bodies were unrecognizable due to the burns.
ears following Paul Walker’s death, Meadow filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche. She claimed the Porsche Carrera had “numerous design defects” and among the defects was instability.
The car brand blamed Walker for the accident by noting that “the perils, risk, and danger were open and obvious and known to him, and he chose to conduct himself in a manner so as to expose himself to such perils, dangers, and risks, thus assuming all the risks involved in using the vehicle.”
Meadow eventually reached separate out-of-court settlements with Porsche.
Meadow Says She Has Received ‘Signs’ From Paul Walker
While speaking to E! News at the Fast X premiere this past spring, Meadow spoke about the “signs” she has received from her father, Paul Walker.
“For me, it’s numbers, four and seven are my dad’s favorite numbers,” she explained. “And I swear whenever I’m doubting anything or whenever I’m in an argument with someone or anything, I start seeing four and seven everywhere. So I always know that it’s him.”
Meadow also spoke about the “moment” she had a day prior to the premiere. “Even yesterday, I was having a moment and then the clock bells started ringing. And I was like, ‘OK, it’s all good, it’s gonna be OK.’”
As she continues to grieve the loss of her father a decade later, Meadow said her Fast family continues to support and love her. “For me, honestly, this brings out the happiness,” she declared about the premiere. “For me, this is super exciting and he would be amazed that this is happening.”
