Ozzy Osbourne Reveals He Has 10 Years to Live ‘At Best’ Following Tumor Diagnosis

Ozzy Osbourne recently got candid about his health, revealing that he has a tumor in one of his vertebrae, giving the 74-year-old ten years to live “at best.”

In a November 24 interview with Rolling Stone UK, the Prince of Darkness opened up about his health struggles, admitting that he feels lucky to be alive because he “should have been dead a thousand times.”

“I’ve been doing a lot of reflection while I’ve been laid up, and all my drinking partners, I’ve realized they’re all f***ing dead!” Osbourne explained. “The graveyard’s full of them! You’re dead and you’re dead and you’re dead.”

“I should have been dead way before loads of them,” he continued. “Why am I last man standing? I don’t understand any of it. Sometimes I look in the mirror and go, ‘Why the f–k did you make it?!’”

“I’m not boasting about any of it because I should have been dead a thousand times. I’ve had my stomach pumped God knows how many times.”

Ozzy Osbourne Says He Isn’t Afraid of Death

Even amid all the health problems, Ozzy Osbourne maintains that he does not fear death. On the contrary, he’s long had an escape route in place with his wife of 41 years, Sharon. After watching his father die of cancer and Sharon’s die of Alzheimer’s, Osbourne has no intention of becoming a “shell of himself.”

“I don’t fear death, but I don’t want to have a long, painful, and miserable existence,” he told Rolling Stone. “I like the idea that if you have a terminal illness, you can go to a place in Switzerland and get it done quickly.”

“But look,” Osbourne continued. “I said to Sharon that I’d smoked a joint recently and she said, ‘What are you doing that for! It’ll f***ing kill you!’ I said, ‘How long do you want me to f***ing live for?!’ At best, I’ve got ten years left and when you’re older, time picks up speed.”

Whether Ozzy Osbourne’s ten-year timeline is his own guess or a doctor’s prognosis remains unclear.

Ozzy Hopes to Do One More Concert Before Retiring for Good

In February of this year, Ozzy Osbourne made the shocking announcement that he was too “weak” to perform any longer. Since that time, he seems to have had a change of heart. Though the Prince of Darkness admits that performing would be difficult, he now says his goal is to do at least one more concert to say thank you to his dedicated fans.

“For whatever reason, that’s my goal to work to. To do those shows. If it’s Ozzfest or somewhere, or even a f—ing gig at the Roundhouse,” he said. “If I can’t continue doing shows on a regular basis, I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, ‘Hi guys, thanks so much for my life.’ That’s what I’m working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I’ll die a happy man.”
