Because he’s no longer an actor, Home Alone 3 star Alex D. Linz isn’t caught on camera a lot, but recently a grown-up Linz was seen. Linz, who is now a legal analyst, was seen going out for lunch in Los Angeles, the New York Post reports. He’s now 34 years old.
In case you forgot, Linz starred alongside Scarlett Johansson in Home Alone 3, which came out in 1997. While stepping out, Linz wore a teal fleece pullover, jeans, and a pair of Crocs when heading to lunch.
Linz, who is a native of Santa Barbara, Calif., had a beard and curly hair. He also was wearing some cool glasses that harken back to an aviator’s look. His food choices included a burger and soda.
Alex D. Linz Started Career On ‘Cybill’
For Linz, the road to becoming a successful actor all started at 6 years old. He popped up on the CBS sitcom Cybill starring Cybill Shepherd of Moonlighting and Christine Baranski of The Gilded Age. More TV work in the soap opera world included The Young and the Restless back in 1995.
Linz helped back up Michelle Pfeiffer as her character’s son in the movie One Fine Day in 1996. Up next? Linz’s turn in the Home Alone franchise. He took over Macaulay Culkin’s spot in the Home Alone world. When he stepped in for Culkin, reportedly there was a little backlash going on.
Then, in 2001, Linz took the lead role in the Disney movie Max Keeble’s Big Move. Yet Linz didn’t feel accomplished enough as an actor. So, he stepped away from the world of acting. Linz went into music, joining up with a garage band named The Fez Armada in California.
Again, that was not the answer for Linz’s life direction. Ultimately, he left the band and ended up enrolling for college at the University of California, Berkley. That’s a little bit of a catch-up on where or what Linz has been doing.
While Linz Goes One Way, Macaulay Culkin Goes Another
Of course, Home Alone fans hold Culkin’s Kevin McCallister close to their hearts. Just recently, Culkin received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. A few cast members showed up for the event, including actress-comedian Catherine O’Hara. She offered some wonderful words about the movie and Culkin in her speech.
“‘Home Alone’ was, is, and always will be a beloved global sensation,” O’Hara said. “The reason families all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving ‘Home Alone’ together is because of Macaulay Culkin.”
Joining Culkin at the event was Culkin’s fiancée Brenda Song, 34. Also in attendance were their two sons: Dakota, 2, and a baby boy born earlier this year.
Culkin starred in Home Alone and Home Alone 2. Most of the first movie’s cast also appeared in the sequel, including Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. They played the criminals who kept trying to break into the McCallister home. Kevin, though, had different ideas.
As for O’Hara, she’s a talented actress, comedian, and voiceover artist. Fans really do remember her for a single word that she utters in the movie. She screams “Kevin!” after not being able to find him at all.
