Emily Blunt Reveals ‘The Office’ Fans Can’t Stand Seeing Her With John Krasinski

Emily Blunt will seemingly never stop living in the shadow of The Office’s Pam Beesly.

The Jim and Pam storyline is perhaps the most cherished of the sitcom. The co-workers turned lovers had a believable and special chemistry from Episode 1, and they built towards romance, marriage, and family in the most perfect way. Because of that, The Office fans will forever be cheering for them.

In real life, Jim’s actor, John Krasinski, has been happily married to fellow actor Emily Blunt for 13 years. But people still can’t separate the actor from the character, despite the series ending ten years ago. And when they see him strolling down the street with his wife, they become enraged.

“Do you know how many people still yell out, ‘I wish you were with Pam!’ like when I’m walking next to him?” Blunt said on an episode of Variety’Awards Circuit podcast. “‘Where’s Pam?’ I’m like, ‘She’s not here!’”

Jenna Fischer Says People Believe She Married Her ‘The Office’ Costar

Despite their on-screen chemistry, Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski have never been anything more than platonic. In fact, Fischer was married to actor James Gunn when she first met Krasinski. She then married her current husband, screenwriter Lee Kirk, exactly one week before Krasinski and Blunt said “I do.”

Fortunately, neither Blunt nor Kirk cares what The Office fans think. The two couples are extremely comfortable with their relationships. And all four of them are close friends today.

“She’s the best,” Blunt shared. “She’s one of our dearest friends. We love Jenna.”

Fischer also spoke on the Jim-and-Pam-mania in the past. While visiting An Oral History of The Office in 2020, she admitted that people were under the impression that she and her costar actually paired up off-screen, and she hated crushing their fantasy with the truth.

“People don’t know how John and I are not a couple in real life,” she laughed. “They don’t understand it. I don’t know how to explain it because it’s a little bit like telling kids there’s no Santa.”
