Dolly Parton’s Sister Blasts Critics of Revealing Halftime Outfit in NSFW Message

Dolly Parton’s Sister Blasts Critics of Revealing Halftime Outfit in NSFW Message

Dolly Parton made waves Thanksgiving Day at The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show during the Dallas Cowboys game against the Washington Commanders. The 77-year-old appeared on stage sporting a replica of the Dallas Cowboys’ cheerleading uniform, the revealing ensemble sparking heated debates across the internet.

Though the vast majority praised the Queen of Country for her fearless dedication to fashion and staying true to herself, there were some who criticized her for dressing “too young” for her age. Seeing the smattering of disapproving messages, Stella Parton, Dolly’s younger sister, posted to X (formerly Twitter) in fierce defense of the singer.

“I personally thought my big sister Dolly was cute as hell in her Dallas Cowboys cheerleading costume at the half time show on Thanksgiving,” Parton wrote. “To those of you being so critical of a 77 year old kicking up her heels, I say f–k yourself. Shame on you not her.”

Whoopi Goldberg Defends Dolly Parton’s Dallas Cowboys Outfit

The day after Stella Parton’s fiery message to all the Dolly haters out there, Whoopi Goldberg spoke out in defense of the country icon as well. On Monday’s episode of The View, Goldberg told those who criticized Parton’s bold attire to stuff it.

“Apparently, my turkey wasn’t the only thing online that people were hating,” Goldberg said, referencing the criticism she received for stuffing her Thanksgiving bird without gloves. “Dolly Parton stole the show on Thanksgiving at the Cowboys/Commanders game dressed as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, but some critics told her to act her age.”

“Bite me,” Goldberg said succinctly.

Whoopi Goldberg’s co-host, Sunny Hostin, agreed with her assessment, admitting that if she looked like Dolly Parton, she wouldn’t shy away from revealing outfits either. “If I looked like that in one of them Cowboy things, I might have everything out,” Hostin said.

“I don’t know if that’s a belly ring or what, but I want what she has,” Hostin said, referencing an image of Parton from the performance.
