Dolly Parton Hosting Fashion Show for Pups to Launch ‘Doggy Parton’ Line

Besides country music, her family, and her fans, Dolly Parton definitely will put pets right in the middle of her life. They’ve been a part of Parton’s life for many years. As she attests to having, Parton has been a dog owner of small and big dogs in her life.

Now, she’s throwing her creative energies into a new line of clothes, collars, and nick-nacks for these four-legged friends. She’s calling this line “Doggy Parton” and Dolly has a few friends along for the ride. The star-studded group will be on CBS on Wednesday night (Feb. 21). Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala will air from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time and the stars will be there, too, according to Remind Magazine.

Dolly Parton Brings Out Stars For Special

Dolly sings some of her hits, including I Will Always Love You, 9 to 5, Puppy Love, and Jolene. She gets some pretty cool musicians to help her out here. They include Carly Pearce, Lainey Wilson, Chris Janson, and Harry Casey of KC and the Sunshine Band.

Other celebrities scheduled to appear include Drew Barrymore, Kristin Chenoweth, Margaret Cho, Neil Patrick Harris, Iain Armitage, Kristen Bell, Jessica Simpson, Carson Kressley, and CBS sportscaster Jim Nantz.

In talking about the special, Parton said, “I have hosted or co-hosted many shows throughout my career, but I have never been more excited about co-hosting a show than I am about being part of this pet gala! I love animals. I’ve got all kinds, and of course, I’ve always had little dogs around and big ones!”

“We’re going to have some of all kinds and colors on the show, and there is nothing more fun to me than when little animals do what they do best, and I’m looking forward to it!” Parton said. “There is so much fun stuff, and I know all the animal lovers out there are going to love this show.”

For people who make a purchase from Parton’s animal clothing line, a portion of the proceeds goes to the Willa B Farms animal rescue.

People keeping up religiously with Parton’s career should not be surprised with this new venture. Besides her music career, Parton has been quite a successful entrepreneur. Fans are aware of her “Dollywood” theme park, where families can visit to have fun and see different career presentations.

Parton Teams Up With Pitbull On New Project

After some time, Dolly Parton’s country music fans may have come to accept her rock-and-roll side. Her most recent album was Rockstar, where Parton sang some classic rock music numbers. She had some guest performers along for the ride, too.

All of that came along while Parton entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Some rock music fans grumbled over Parton’s inclusion since she’s not been known as a rocker. At first, she even declined to accept this honor. But she came around and finally accepted it gracefully.

Now, Parton has teamed up with Pitbull on a number, Forbes reports. Pitbull recently released an EP titled Trackhouse (Daytona 500 Edition). On there, he’s got a track titled Powerful Women that includes Parton’s 9 to 5 melody in there. Parton has her part in there, too, with lyrics where she shoutouts her movie co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

Dolly Parton has come a long way from her days singing with Porter Wagoner. Over the years, her songwriting practice has paid off in hits for her and other musical acts. In this TV special, viewers will get to see another side of Parton as an animal lover. Of course, she knows that mixing musical numbers with guests can keep viewers’ attention. That way, she can hit them with a furry friend followed by some music.
