Disney Stars Then and Now Pics Break Millennials’ Brains: ‘I’m Getting Old’

Seeing these pictures of Disney stars as they were in the 1990s, then how they look today, is a real trip. This collection of some of your favorites from that decade was gathered together. Thanks to the Instagram account “Only Nineties Kids Know,” we have some friendly faces saying hi to us.

Hilary Duff

We start out by taking a look at Hilary Duff, who became famous thanks to Lizzie McGuire. Duff said in an interview that she was 13 years old when the series started. But Duff didn’t want to keep going down the acting rabbit hole and switched to music. She finds herself, though, among the Disney stars.

Ryan Merriman

Ryan Merriman played Kyle Johnson in the Disney movie, Luck of the Irish. But this movie came out in 2001, so technically it should not be in this batch of photos. In the 1990s, though, Merriman appeared in the TV series The Mommies and The Pretender. He also appeared in another feature film in 1999 titled Deep End of the Ocean.

Tahj Mowry

Tahj Mowry made a name for himself back in the ’90s by appearing on Disney Sing Along Songs in 1994. Mowry starred in the late ’90s sitcom Smart Guy. It gained a lot of recognition after being on the Disney Channel. But Mowry also found himself playing Teddy, Michelle Tanner’s best friend, on Full House.

Anthony Lawrence

Anthony Lawrence caught the public’s eye while playing Bernard “Beans” Aranguren in the Disney Channel series Even Steven from 2001 to 2003. Other television credits for Lawrence include Married… with Children, The Amanda Show, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and Absolutely True.

Orlando Brown

Orlando Brown was a featured player among Disney stars on the Disney Channel show That’s So Raven. Brown also appeared in Family Matters and made his acting debut in the movie Major Payne. In recent years, Brown has had a number of legal problems and pretty much almost ended up homeless.

Lawrence Brothers

The Lawrence brothers, Matthew, Joey, and Andrew, were Disney stars on the show Brotherly Love. It ran from 1995 to 1997 on NBC. They also starred in some Disney movies, including Horse Sense and Jumping Ship. Joey Lawrence also appeared in Blossom and Gimme a Break.

Kimberly Brown

Kimberly Brown starred as Marnie Piper in Halloweentown. In this Disney original movie, Marine was determined to learn about magic from her grandmother Aggie, who was played by Debbie Reynolds. Brown reprised her role in two of three sequels. Brown’s absence from the fourth movie upset her and the franchise’s fans, too. She has gone on to have a role in General Hospital.

Kirsten Storms

Kirsten Storms played Zenon Kar in the Disney Channel movie Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. Storms went on to appear in Days of Our Lives and General Hospital. She was married to General Hospital co-star Brandon Barash for three years, and they have a child.

Christy Carlson Romano

Christy Carlson Romano appeared in three different shows among Disney stars for the Disney Channel at the same time. Romano starred in Even Stevens and Cadet Kelly. But she also provided voiceover work for the animated series Kim Possible. All three of those shows, though, were in the 2000s.

Erik von Detten

Erik von Detten played the lead character in the 1998 Disney Channel movie Brink! But he’d also worked before this movie on Days of Our Lives. In 1995, von Detten provided the voiceover for Sid Phillips in Toy Story. From 1999 to 2001, he starred in the Disney Channel show So Weird.
