Dennis Quaid, Julianne Moore Reunite 21 Years After ‘Far From Heaven’: See the Sweet Snap

Dennis Quaid, Julianne Moore Reunite 21 Years After ‘Far From Heaven’: See the Sweet Snap

More than 20 years after starring together in the film Far From Heaven, Dennis Quaid and Julianne Moore have a special and unexpected reunion.

According to People, Quaid and Moore ran into each other while making separate appearances on Good Morning America. Quaid was on the morning show to perform a song from his album Fallen: A Gospel Record for Sinners while Moore was promoting her new film May December.

Following the quick reunion, Good Morning America co-host Michael Strahan asked Moore, “We saw you earlier on our set with Dennis Quaid, your Far From Heaven costar. How did it feel to be reunited with him?”

To which she responded, “What a wonderful coincidence that we’re on the show on the same day. We hadn’t seen each other in years, and I was absolutely thrilled to see him. That was a long time ago. I was pregnant on that movie and my daughter’s now 21.”

Fellow co-host Robin Roberts also asked Julianne Moore if she knew Dennis Quaid could sing like he could. “I didn’t know he recorded a gospel album! So I’m going to buy it.”

According to IMDb, Far From Heaven takes place in 1950s Connecticut where a flustered housewife is facing a marital crisis and mounting racial tensions in the outside world. Starring alongside Moore and Quaid in the drama included Dennis Haysbert, Patricia Clarkson, Viola Davis, and James Rebhorn. The film made its debut on November 8, 2002, and achieved $29 million at the box office. It also had four Oscar nominations.

Julianne Moore Once Recalled Making ‘Far From Heaven’ With Dennis Quaid

In a 2019 interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Julianne Moore spoke about making Far From Heaven with Dennis Quaid and director Todd Haynes.

“I love Dennis Quaid,” Moore declared. “We had a great time together. It was pretty great.”

Moore then said she loves Haynes as well. “We have a great working relationship, and I think just being with him every day, I was so happy every day going to work on that movie.”

The actress then called the film an incredible opportunity. “There I was, playing a great character with a great director, at home — we shot it right outside of New York City — so it couldn’t have been a better circumstance.”

Haynes also talked about Moore and Far From Heaven during the film’s 20th anniversary screening in 2022. “I can’t imagine how my career would have unfolded without Julianne’s part in it,” he said. “It’s an element of luck that we found each other.”
