Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2023 Weather Forecast Revealed

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2023 kicks off in mere minutes, and of course, Al Roker has the weather forecast for the big event! Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie are already out on those NYC streets and bundled up. The Today Show duo are both wearing heavy coats with gloves, but still look upbeat for the festive event. On a segment for their program, they inquired veteran weatherman Al Roker as to what to expect in regard to the climate for Turkey Day in the Big Apple.

The camera cut to Roker, wearing a sharp suit and fedora and sporting his trademark grin. “We’ve got great weather for you,” Roker began. “Let’s take a look and show you what the parade forecast is. Right now. We’ve got a temperature that’s somewhere around 50 degrees.”

However, Roker noted that it was currently a bit chillier. “Right now it’s 45 a windchill of 40. But that’s not going to be bad,” Roker added. The veteran weatherman pointed out that the conditions for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2023 will be perfect for Saint Nick. “The winds are light, most importantly, and by the time Santa hits Herald Square it’s going to be sunny.”

Al Roker Predicts Great Conditions for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2023

“Winds about 10 to 15,” Roker continued. “Again, still well within the realm of getting to see all those balloons come down and end up there. Herald Square is blustery around the Great Lakes today,” he noted. “[With] sunshine up and down the eastern seaboard. We do have a winter storm back through the Rockies sunshine along the west coast as well.” Roker ended on an upbeat note, confident the weather conditions were ideal for the event. “So it’s gonna be a great Thanksgiving Day and guys it is going to be a great parade can’t wait for it to kick off,” he concluded.

The 97th Macy’s parade is about to begin! Shortly, the performers, floats, and balloons will embark on a 2.5-mile journey, starting at 8:30 a.m. ET (5:30 a.m. PT). The excitement will reach its peak by 12:00 p.m. ET.
