The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers faced off in the Super Bowl on February 11. Of course because Taylor Swift and Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce went public with their relationship, the pop star was in attendance. But many fans have questioned why Swift has never been the talent for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Especially with the NFL doing everything they can to capitalize on their newest super fan.
A new report claims the reason is because of her deal with Coca–Cola. The brand is the direct rival of Pepsi which previously sponsored the halftime show.
“While a performance from Swift during Kelce’s game would be undoubtedly sweet, it’s unlikely that the pop star will take the Super Bowl halftime stage anytime soon. For years, Swift has allegedly declined the slot due to having inked a “long-term partnership” with Coca-Cola, the rival brand to the Super Bowl Halftime sponsor, Pepsi,” Time wrote.
Taylor Swift’s Schedule Preventing Her From Doing Halftime Show
Even with Pepsi no longer being the sponsor of the halftime show, Swift still may not be a performer any time soon. With Swift’s busy schedule, it would be a stretch for her to be a performer. Even this year, it was a struggle for her to be in attendance in Las Vegas. The previous night she had a show for her eras tour in Tokyo, Japan. Preparing for a show as grandiose as the halftime show would be strenuous.
“What could also be preventing Swift is her busy schedule. She released her Oct. 2022 album, Midnights, which recently won two Grammy awards, including a historic fourth Album of the Year award for Swift, and is re-recording her first six albums—four of which have been released: Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and 1989 (Taylor’s Version),” Time added.
“She still has Reputation (Taylor’s Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version) to release. She also just announced that she will release a brand new album, The Tortured Poets Department, on April 19.”
Travis Kelce Gushes Over Swift’s New Album
After she accepted her first Grammy award of the night last weekend pop star Taylor Swift announced her upcoming album.
On February 5th she released the tracklist to the anticipated album. On February 6, Swift’s beau Travis Kelce revealed he has already heard some of the “unbelievable,” album.
“I have heard some of it, yes, and it is unbelievable. I can’t wait for her to shake up the world when it finally drops,” he said during a press conference. “She’s unbelievable. She’s rewriting the history books herself, [and] I told her I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain and come home with some hardware, too.”
