Mariah Carey Drops New Festive Christmas Video

Rejoice! Mariah Carey just gifted her fans with a new Lambs-focused video for her holiday standard, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Carey has been rocking the country for almost a month with her jingle-all-the-way “Merry Christmas One and All” tour. This morning, she dropped a brand new video showcasing all the festive mayhem from the tour.

“The best thing about being on tour is getting to celebrate the holidays with my lambily!! To show my appreciation, here is a new video for ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You,” Carey tweeted. “I’m calling this one the ‘Festive Lambs Edition!’.”

The spruced-up clip kicks off with Mariah getting glam backstage, followed by a glimpse of uber-enthusiastic fans rocking their Santa best and hyping up for the show. The remaining four-minute visual is a spectacular montage showcasing concert highlights, snippets of behind-the-scenes action, fan sing-alongs, and dance-offs galore. It’s an unabashed joyride that’ll keep fans’ spirits soaring for the next fortnight.

Mariah Carey’s Christmas Video Documents Her Current Holiday Tour

Carey’s tour began with a bang on November 15th at the Yaamava Casino in Highland, CA. Since then, she’s spread yuletide cheer to audiences at iconic venues like the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, as well as in Denver, Kansas City, Toronto, Montreal, Detroit, Chicago, and Pittsburgh. On Monday, December 11th, Boston will have the pleasure of her company before she starts winding down. Philadelphia (December 13th) and Baltimore (December 15th) are the next lucky cities before the grand finale at Madison Square Garden in New York on December 17th.

Naturally, the holiday season is Mariah Carey’s time to shine. She reclaimed chart dominance with “All I Want For Christmas.” The song swiftly sleighed its way to the top spot on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated Dec. 9), ascending from No. 3 to No. 1 on the former and magically leaping from 8 to 1 on the latter.

Upon release, the song achieved remarkable success. It reached number six on the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary chart in the US. IOt also secured the second spot in both the UK and Japan. With the rise of music streaming, this single has experienced a resurgence, returning to charts worldwide annually before Christmas. Its meteoric rise to the top spot in over 25 countries is partly due to its inclusion in popular seasonal playlists.
