Kesha has made a decision about her big 2009 hit Tik Tok and the iconic lyric at the beginning of the song that refers to P. Diddy. The decision was made after Sean “Diddy” Combs was accused by his ex, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, of rape and abuse last week. The lawsuit was filed last Thursday and was settled quickly on Friday.
Kesha decided to change a lyric referring to Combs. That change came at a concert in Oakland, Calif.
People reported that she didn’t sing “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy” at her Only Love Tour stop at Fox Theater on Friday. Fan-filmed footage revealed that the 36-year-old pop star sang, “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me”! Time will tell if Kesha will change the lyrics on recordings of the song, too.
Just one day after Ventura, 37, accused Combs, 54, of rape and more in a lawsuit, they reached a settlement. They announced that they resolved the claims in the lawsuit to their “mutual satisfaction.” At this time, no further details are available.
Kesha’s Decision Comes In Light Of Couple’s Issues
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Ventura said in a statement. “I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.” Ventura’s attorney Douglas Wigdor said, “I am very proud of Ms. Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit.”
Combs added, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
“After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story,” she said in a statement at the time of filing. “And to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.”
She refers to the New York Adult Survivors Act expiring soon. Ventura said, “It became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life.
