‘Road House’ Remake Cast Posters Arrive Featuring Jake Gyllenhaal and Post Malone

‘Road House’ Remake Cast Posters Arrive Featuring Jake Gyllenhaal and Post Malone

New character posters just dropped for Jake Gyllenhaal’s Road House remake, which also stars… Post Malone?

Yesterday, Amazon MGM Studios announced that Post Malone has joined the cast of their upcoming film. This news comes shortly after his powerful performance of “America the Beautiful” at the pre-Super Bowl event. Post Malone will portray a character named Carter in Jake Gyllenhaal’s Road House remake.

The posters, which dropped on X (formerly Twitter) give new looks at star Jake Gyllenhaal, along with Conor McGregor, Daniela Melchior, Jessica Williams, Billy Magnussen, Lukas Gage, and Darren Barnet. Curiously, Post Malone will be credited as Austin Post for Jake Gyllenhaal’s Road House remake.

The ‘Road House’ Remake Has Some Serious Action Pedigree

Jake Gyllenhaal takes on the role of Dalton, originally played by Patrick Swayze in the 1989 cult classic. This time, he portrays an ex-UFC fighter striving to leave his troubled past and violent tendencies behind.

Struggling to make ends meet, he relies on his reputation that precedes him until Frankie, the owner of a roadhouse in the Florida Keys, notices him. Desperate to protect her cherished bar from a ruthless gang working for crime boss Brandt, she hires Dalton as her new bouncer. Despite being outnumbered, Dalton’s exceptional skills prove unbeatable against Brandt’s crew. However, the stakes escalate with the arrival of Knox, a merciless gun-for-hire.

The Road House reboot has an impressive action pedigree. Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith), it features a screenplay by Anthony Bagarozzi (The Nice Guys) and Charles Mondry (Doc Savage).

The original Road House released in 1989 received mixed reviews but became a guilty pleasure with its 80s action cheese, badass fight scenes, and Patrick Swayze’s irresistible charisma. It’s tough to imagine anyone matching Swayze’s swagger and Sam Elliot’s effortless cool, but Gyllenhaal and company seem to be giving it their best shot.

Jake Gyllenhaal Shared Fun ‘Road House’ Remake Behind the Scenes Footage with Post Malone

Yesterday, Jake Gyllenhaal posted a selfie with Post Malone on the set of the Road House remake on Instagram, as Prime Video announced Malone’s appearance in the film. The rapper and singer rocked a fierce look, sporting fake blood on his face, perhaps from filming action-packed fight scenes for the epic remake.

In the carousel, a second video caught Gyllenhaal gracefully dodging under the flailing arms of Malone and actor Kenny Lorenzetti while they wrestled on set.

“Hey guys, sorry, what’s going on?” Gyllenhaal quips. “Just passing through.”

“A man of many talents. To say it was a pleasure working together is an understatement,” Gyllenhaal wrote in the Instagram post. “Welcome to the #roadhouse @postmalone!”

Road House drops on Prime Video on March 21.
