‘Predator’: Who Won the Epic Biggest Bicep War Between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura?

1987’s sci-fi action classic Predator is brimming with machismo, spearheaded by stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura. However, the muscle men of the film didn’t just match wits with a killer alien onscreen. When cameras weren’t rolling, there was some serious flexing going on.

In behind-the-scenes footage, Jesse Ventura is seen boasting about having bigger pythons than Arnold Schwarzenegger. “The biggest thrill for me was when we hit wardrobe,” Ventura in full heel mode begins. “I happened to view Arnold’s wardrobe tape, and when my arms taped out one inch bigger than Mr. Olympia’s, that made Jesse Ventura feel pretty good.”

However, it seems that Ventura may have been lulled into a false sense of security by his bodybuilder co-star. “He came to the gym two days later and says, “You know something, Arnold, we should measure our arms. Who has bigger arms?” I said, of course, we should,” Arnold recalls in the video. ” Let’s bet a bottle of champagne. He said, of course, we should.”

So, who came out on top of this epic battle of the bulging biceps? Which of these testosterone-driven titans got to pop the cork? “We measured and my arm was three inches bigger than his,” Schwarzenegger claims, beaming.

Jesse Ventura Wasn’t the Only Buff Star to Suffer an Arnold Schwarzenegger Prank

Of course, Jesse Ventura wasn’t the only one to suffer at the hands of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s mind games. The Austrian Oak once tricked rival Sylvester Stallone into a role that became one of his biggest blunders.

In 1992, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot features Stallone with Estelle Getty from The Golden Girls. The movie follows a tough police sergeant (Stallone) whose mother (Getty) visits him, aiming to enhance his life, but instead causing him embarrassment. She buys him a machine gun as a birthday gift from a mysterious van, washes his favorite pistol in the sink, and generally interferes in his work and love life. Eventually, she helps him solve a case he’s handling.

The film bombed at the box office and earned Stallone a Golden Raspberry Award for ‘Worst Actor’. However, Sly only got involved after hearing about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s interest in the project. “I had heard Schwarzenegger was going to do [Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot],” Stallone admitted to The Hollywood Reporter in 2022. ‘I’m going to beat him to it.’ I think he set me up.”

The Conan the Barbarian legend owned up to the allegation when pressed. “It’s 100% true. In those days, we did all kinds of crazy things to get ahead in our rivalry,” Schwarzenegger said. “Luckily for us and everyone else, today, we root for each other. Thank God, because we sure don’t ever need another Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.”
