Marvel Comics is making it known that 2024 will be a banner year as it will release X-Men ’97 next year at some point. It will be joined on the animation circuit by Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, also due to be out in 2024. Another cartoon series in the books is Eyes of Wakanda.
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is a new name for a series that was first announced as SpiderMan: Freshman Year. Not much else has been revealed about Eyes of Wakanda. Marvel Studios still plans to have Deadpool 3 as a go for 2024, ComicBook.com said.
This news popped up as part of Marvel’s presentation of What If…? Season Two.
Not much has been revealed about both X-Men ’97 and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man since their initial announcements more than two years ago. Nothing more has been unveiled about Eyes of Wakanda.
Storyline Set For X-Men ’97
So, what is X-Men ’97 about? Marvel Studios and Disney+ say, “Storm and Wolverine try to continue the X-Men. Magneto comes in and wants to step up for Charles Xavier. Sinister comes in to try to end the X-Men once and for all.”
As for who’s coming back for X-Men ’97, they include Nightcrawler, Sunspot, Rogue, Gambit, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Gray, Beast, Cable, Bishop, Forge, and Morph. X-Men ’97 will follow Magneto who leads the X-Men in Professor Xavier’s absence. Mister Sinister serves as the main villain in the series. “Sinister is back in a big way,” X-Men ’97 head writer Beau DeMayo previously said, “He is going to be holding the X-Men’s fate in the fire and telling humanity…to face the future.”
What If…? Season 2 will debut on Disney+ on December 22nd. The first season of the animated show is now streaming on the service. X-Men ’97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man have yet to set release dates.

Look for an updated animation look to happen thanks to updated technology. This will be different from the original cartoon that previously aired. It reportedly will have a more modern look to the animation figures.
