The Wait for ‘GTA 6’ Isn’t Over Yet

The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 caused quite a stir — gaining over 100 million views online in record time. Rockstar Games swiftly secured its place in YouTube history by breaking the platform’s record for the most views within the first 24 hours. The record was previously held by popular YouTuber Mr. Beast.

Interestingly, the trailer’s early release was not part of the original plan but was prompted by an unfortunate leak online. A copy of the trailer surfaced prematurely on social media. The first glimpse into the highly anticipated GTA 6 was unveiled approximately 15 hours ahead of the scheduled Tuesday morning reveal. Rockstar Games released the official trailer on YouTube to combat the leaked version.

Despite the unexpected early reveal, hardcore Grand Theft Auto fans spotted some intriguing details from the 90-second teaser. Notably, the next installment will be set in the Miami-inspired Vice City and feature a female protagonist named Lucia — a groundbreaking first for the franchise.

However, fans were met with the realization that the game won’t hit the shelves until 2025. That’s a later release date than initially anticipated.
