BYD Unveils Electric Supercar: See the Car That Goes 190 and 0-60 in 2.36 Seconds

With the advancement of automobile designs these days soaring, just take a good, close look at this BYD Yangwang U9. You are looking at a completely electric supercar. Take a gander at those statistics offered up by Morning Brew on X (formerly Twitter). Looking for some type of super-duper speed car that’ll knock the socks off your friends? Here you go.

Now, the catch here is that you’d need a free $233,450 available to purchase this automobile. Another catch for the time being his this is only going to be available in China for now. It will take a little bit of effort to have BYD set up shop in another country.

BYD Looks To Take On Tesla In Electric Car Market

In case you didn’t know, then BYD is challenging the market position of Tesla.

According to an article from CNBC, the BYD Yangwang U9’s top speed is 192.12 mph. Toss in the ability to accelerate from 0-to-60 mph in 2.36 seconds.

People might also want to know if this type of car compares to any already out on the market. If you look closely at its overall traits, then it might come close to Ferrari supercars. That company’s SF90 Stradale model can reach 100 kph in 2.5 seconds. Also, don’t take your eyes off of what’s happening at Porsche, either.

This BYD Yangwang U9 supercar will have the use of its e4 Platform, along with the BYD-developed DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System, to power it up, BYD states. Meanwhile, the U9 will have a lithium-iron-phosphate battery in it. Upon review, these power units are popular with electric vehicle makers. Why? They are cheaper because cobalt, an expensive metal, isn’t used. China is the place to go for LFP production, too.

Gullwing Doors On Supercar Will Draw Onlookers

Notice the gullwing doors, which will make plenty of onlookers go “ooh” and “ahh.” Its wheelbase measures 2,900 mm, while the sharp face has slim LED headlights. It also has a large front grille that people will have to see for themselves. The BYD Yangwang U9’s alloy wheels measure 34 inches, according to HT Auto.

What is in this market for the future? One could say that it looks very bright. These supercars like the Yangwang U9 are making inroads for their company.

Consumers will not be able to afford this high-ticket item right now. Yet it will be interesting to see who is the first person to purchase this brand. Will it be a well-known name? Maybe just another wealthy individual who wanted to add this to his collection.

Right now, though, no other country beyond China has the BYD Yangwang U9 available. Seeing different companies put their supercars out for the world to see makes it feel like a race. It’s a high-powered competition for superiority in the marketplace.

In the meantime, those of us looking at what BYD is doing can’t wait for the next shoe to drop. And these little video clips showing the progression of supercars also stir up the competitive juices. Let’s see who will come out and challenge the Yangwang U9 in the next few days.

The competitive lines have been drawn between BYD and Tesla. It lines up to be a battle of the heavyweights, so buckle up and get ready.
