The Lamborghini Urus, a SUV that can hit a top speed of 205 mph, was first revealed at the Beijing Auto Show in 2012. It is expected to enter production in late-2017 or 2018.
What's under the hood?
Lamborghini has designed an all-new 4-litre twin turbo V8 exclusively for the Urus. The Urus Super SUV will offer a 5.2-litre turbocharged V10, that includes an electric motor with plug-in capability.
Why has Lamborghini opted to build an SUV?
It seems that Lamborghini is trying to broaden its appeal to women with the Urus.
Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali is hoping a big percentage of Urus buyers will be women, as the company's current buyers are 95 percent male.
According to J.D. Power and Associates, 48% of all premium SUV buyers are women, so Lamborghini may find a market for its first foray into the four-seater, family-oriented vehicle category.
The Urus' rumored $200,000 price tag would make it "just" $40,000 more expensive than the Cayenne Turbo S, so there may be a market for it yet...
